A management restructuring at distributor Exertis Micro-P will see Stuart Bruce, general manager for Attach take on the new dual role of head of services and accessories sales in the retail team. Bruce’s former role will be taken on by Joe Officer, who has returned to the business, where he previously headed the PC team.
Bruce, who joined Exertis Micro-P in 2013, said: ‘These are times of genuine opportunity at Exertis Micro-P and I am very pleased to lead the sales arm of accessories and expand the newly created services offering. I look forward to taking the team to the next level.’
Officer will continue Exertis Micro-P’s concerted push into the accessories market, with a strategy to dominate the emerging wearable tech market.
Officer has been with Exertis Micro-P for nearly 20 years working in sales, channel development, business development and heading up commercial business units. Over the last four years he headed up the company’s largest department, the PC Division.
Officer took a sabbatical in January 3013, pursuing his passion for snowboarding. In June 2013 he became a consultant at Sharptext for six months before returning to France to become a Level 2 snowboarding instructor
He was headhunted back to the business to take over the Attach division by Simon Woodman, UK sales director at Exertis Micro-P.
Officer said: ‘I’m really excited to be back at Exertis Micro-P after my break. The accessories opportunity is massive and this company is at the forefront of breaking innovations, with strong relationships between ourselves and all the major accessory manufacturers. That includes those central to the major 2014 trend of wearable technology, including Jawbone, Samsung, and Sony Mobile.
‘This is just the beginning of the wearable technology revolution and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to help this company be part of it.’
