Security firm Kaspersky Lab has appointed Exertis as its new channel distributor to boost its presence in the UK b2b market.
The two companies have extended their current partnership, with Kaspersky taking advantage of Exertis’ ‘vast knowledge of the security b2b sector’ to strengthen value-added services for its resellers.
Kaspersky’s partnership with Exertis follows on from a ‘substantial’ growth period in 2014, during which the company boosted its reseller base to 582 in total.
This focus on the UK b2b market has seen the security firm make significant investments within marketing. This has now expanded to include value added services, which Exertis claim are critical in the evolving cyber security landscape.
Grahame Smee, MD at Exertis VAD Solutions commented: ‘Kaspersky Lab is entering an exciting stage of growth in the channel. The cyber-threat landscape is evolving and this relationship will help us to deliver a value-add proposition for businesses.’
The security firm explained that it is looking to target Exertis’ reach into the micro-seller market. Kirill Slavin, MD for UK and Ireland at Kaspersky Lab, describing the partnership as ‘an immense opportunity’ to make cyber-attack should be at the heart of a business.
He said: ‘Protection is not just about patching on basic security for businesses today, it is about building cyber-resilience into the very heart of operations. There is an immense opportunity for the channel and we’re delighted to bring Exertis on board to bolster the sales process.
‘The distributor brings two very distinct approaches to the market. Its Value Added Distribution offering encompasses technical excellence and experience in the security arena. It can also help our business get further reach into the mass reseller community, a move which is invaluable for resellers and customers alike.’
