Power 50: Five more competitors revealed

Five more of this year’s most influential figures in Mobile have been released as part of Mobile’s Power 50 – the annual definitive list of the industry’s biggest names.

Returning again for 2017 are Anthony Vollmer – Tesco Mobile’s CEO who previously finished 22nd, Annie Brooks – Virgin Media’s mobile director who previously finished 46th and Paul Sisson – A1 Comms’ MD who previously finished 47th.

Joining last year’s competitors this week is Gerry O’Keefe – Exertis’ UK MD who joins the list again after ranking 21st in 2016. Gerry’s expertise has helped the distributor to expand both its stockists and channels, while also advancing the brand’s smart home proposition and securing unrivalled success in ranging it.

The final addition is John Whittle – Unshackled’s CEO. Unshackled’s provocative campaigns coupled with a price focused comparison site that places the four MNOs alongside 13 of their MVNO partners has the potential to be a disruptive force on a traditionally MNO loyal market.

These five additions will join the ten names already announced online here, which includes influential leaders at organisations as wide ranging as the European Commission, Sky, Daisy Group, John Lewis and OneCom.

Supporters of each candidate also have the opportunity to endorse their candidate against the Power 50 criteria online. More competitors will be added to the list, with the most powerful person in the mobile industry to be announced live at the Mobile Industry Awards on June 1st in London.
